Have you or a loved one ever had an experience that caused traumatic feelings? Or have you or a loved one witnessed such a traumatic experience?
- Accidents;
- Attacks;
- Humiliating Experiences;
- Break-Ins.
When you are involved in a tramatic experience, often traumatic feelings accompany the episode. First of all, the experience was sudden, with no time to prepare. Also, there is damage. You may be injured. You may have pain, and/or require hospitalization, rehabilitation, and treatments. You may even have chronic health and medical problems arising from the experience. Or if you only witnessed such a event, the traumatic feelings may still occur.
Did you develop intrusive, obsessive thoughts?
How could you have avoided what happened?
Why didn't you?
Do you feel a need to avoid all thoughts, memories and feelings from what happened? Avoiding memories and feelings of the trauma are typical but harmful. In this way, the trauma becomes chronic. It does not disappear by itself. Avoiding processing these feelings may lead to stronger and more debilitating symptoms.
- Eye Movement Programming;
- Processing the experience;
- Prolonged Exposure to the traumatic event;
- Reliving it while in a “safe” place.
You may need to repeat this process over time in order to complete it and not have traumatic memories. The same is true for a traumatized child.

Since 1976, I have been practicing psychology, doing behavioral and cognitive therapies, humanistic therapy, assertiveness training, relaxation and guided imagery techniques, and providing treatment to various populations.
Throughout the years both in the US, in Los Angeles and in Israel, I have worked with people of all backgrounds, including religious Jews, ultra-orthodox Jews, secular Jews, Arabs, and some tourists. In the US, I worked with people from varied backgrounds and cultures.
I have worked extensively with people with special needs, providing behavioral and cognitive therapy, social skills training, independent living skills training, self-help skills training, and ongoing supportive therapy.
I have worked with people new to the various cultures and languages in which I lived and worked. Helping them adjust is an ongoing, long-term type of therapy.
